Lantana Ridge Gate Remote Update

In transitioning to the new gate remote we have identified an issue that we'd like to inform residents about. This only affects a small percentage of users. As advertised, the new remote is compatible with the 'Homelink' system in automobiles/trucks. However, some newer models (mostly domestic makes) no longer supply the Homelink system in their upscale vehicles.  Instead they come equipped with a system made by Lear, called "Car2U". See the nearby picture for an example of what this system looks like.   To identify if your vehicle is one of the effected models see this link:

Due to a manufacturer oversight this system will not work with some remotes, like our new one. However, there is a solution which will allow you to use the buttons on your Car2U-equipped vehicle, at least at the Heimer-Lange gate. Lear has supplied a special receiver for the gate, but in order to use your Car2U system you must swap out the buttons in your vehicle for a new set of buttons, pre-programmed to your remote settings. Lear will provide the equipment free of charge.
If you are a resident affected by this and wish to take advantage of the free replacement, please do the following: Contact the gate manager to get the "facility code" and ID of your new remote. Then contact Lear Car2U Customer Service Center at 866-572-2728 or contactus@learorders.com.  Reference Customer Number 211148, your address and Lantana Ridge subdivision. They should then be able to ship you a new set of pre-programmed Car2U buttons, which you will have to install on your own.
If enough residents take advantage of this opportunity, Lear may be willing to provide additional receivers that we may also install at the other gates, making them Car2U capable.

Welcome to the Lantana Ridge Web Site
Lantana Ridge is a gated, country community located 20 miles from San Antonio, just north of Bulverde off of Highway 281. The site was originally beautiful ranch land and care has been taken to preserve the trees and country tranquility as it was brought to life as a community by Lantana Development. There over 300 lots and houses have been built on about half of them so far. Our residents have come from all over the country to make this place their home. Some are retirees, and some have young families - a good mix providing new friendships no matter what your stage in life.

The neighborhood park includes a waterfall, playscape, walking trails and picnic tables and grills. From time to time, holiday events are held at the park - Santa visits, Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Costume Parade and a Fourth of July Parade and Picnic - provide fun for both kids and adults alike. Neighborhood women get together once a month to make new friends and have a fun time together.

There are some lots and existing homes for sale within the community. Since a gate code is required, please contact your realtor for a tour of available real estate.
